Series IV Stylists & Creative Directors: Ginny is finally sharing the Loom technique with the styling and design community by hosting a Loom Series specifically for the Creative Direction/Stylist/Designer community. During this two day series, attendees will learn all about the Loom Technique in lecture, then observe as Ginny works through a Loom scene from conception, to working with the couple, curating an environment, blocking with the couple and then shooting the scene. Attendees will also observe how Ginny and team add movement and life to still life styling. The attendees will then break into groups of three and create two Loom scenes. Their work will then be photographed for their portfolios. The scenes will each have their own theme provided by Ginny and team to execute.
Lectures & Observations: Ginny will provide lectures before and after the shoots. These are teaching lectures explaining the principles of Loom and how to incorporate these techniques into your own work and how the study of relationships, fluid motion and continual action enhance your wedding, lifestyle and branding portfolios. Ginny will also provide an observation exercise where you will follow her through a scene from conception through photography.
Concept for the Shoots: Each small group will work through the concept and execution of two Loom Shoots. One shoot will be a lifestyle/couple shoot familiar to the traditional Loom Series. The second shoot will be brand related, the objective being to apply the Loom technique in creating a lifestyle campaign for your designated brand. A wide selection of props, clothing, surfaces, elements to curate an environment and more will be provided to each group. Your theme and couples or groups for the lifestyle and branding shoot will be pre determined by Ginny, leaving you to develop the action, curate the space and implement the loom techniques as a creative team. Ginny, Kaela & Tess will work as mentors, assisting each group as they work through the process.
Images: Your shoots will be photographed by an established photographer of Ginny's choosing (don't worry, you will have the best of the best.) These images are yours to use for your portfolio, publication and social media. We also encourage you to take iPhone photos or use your own professional cameras throughout the process.
